Abstract: Veterinary practice today relies heavily on the many sophisticated products of the pharmaceutical industry. A wide generic range of chemicals is produced and their numbers are compounded by a proliferation of brand name products, some with only subtle differences in formulation or therapeutic claims, and often tagged with illusory price advantages over other similar products.
