Abstract: May I report what is believed to be the first diagnosis of Tyzzer`s disease in foals in New Zealand. The two foals were from separate farms, became suddenly ill and died some hours later. When first examined, both appeared to be suffering from a septicaemia with central nervous system involvement. Treatment with intravenous fluids and antibiotics brought a marked, but temporary, improvement
