Abstract: The need to know anthelmintic resistance status at an individual farm level is critical in order to adopt best practice worm management strategies and to maximise farm productivity and sustainability. Individual farm data allows farmers and advisors to fine tune the chemical input to worm control programs and regular Worm Egg Count Reduction Tests (WECRTs) are widely recommended for this purpose. This nationwide survey was conducted in response to the need for up-to-date information on anthelmintic resistance in the Australian sheep industry – to help inform management decisions, advisory practices and future research. The survey considered the prevalence of anthelmintic resistance by worm species and active (or combination of actives), as well as the severity of resistance by worm species on the basis of range of efficacy found by each individual active.
