Abstract: HE is an acute viral enteric disease of 6 to 12 weeks old turkey poults, characterised by sudden onset of depression, bloody droppings and death. Mortality ranges from 1% to over 60% in a flock during a period of 5 to 10 days. In New Zealand most infections are associated with mild disease or are subclinical.
