Abstract: IBH is an acute adenovirus infectious disease of young chickens characterised by a sudden onset of sharply increased mortality ,short course ,anemia and necrotic hepatitis often accompanied by intranuclear inclusion bodies. In New Zealand IBH occurs most frequently between 2 and 7 weeks of age and elevated mortality usually persists during 3 to 4 weeks with losses varying from 10-30%.
