Abstract: Infectious bursal disease is characterised by atrophy of the bursa of Fabricius, immunosuppression, anorexia, depression and occasionally nephrosis. Natural infection is predominantly in domestic fowls but has been recorded in turkeys and ducks. IBD virus is present in most poulry producing areas of the world but not in New Zealand.
