Abstract: Lymphoid leucosis commences as a virus induced lymphatic tumour of the bursa of Fabricius which spreads to other organs of birds over 4 months of age. Clinical signs include emaciation, pale shrivelled combs, abdominal distension and, after a prolonged course, end in death. Subclinical disease causes production loss in both meat and layer birds. Domestic poultry are the natural host although virus has been isolated from pheasants.
