Abstract: Over the last two decades, stem cell therapy has attracted a lot of attention in the media because of the ethical considerations around the use of human embryos to harvest embryonic stem cells (ES) and the potential clinical use of these cells in regenerative and reparative medicine. Since the discovery that adults also carry around a large number of stem cells, a huge amount of work has been done on the potential uses of these cells without the ethical constraints around the use of human embryos.
