Abstract: While the vast majority of small animal and mixed veterinary practices routinely perform dental procedures such as scaling, polishing and extractions, only a minority currently offer dental radiology as part of their service. Viewed by many as an optional component of dentistry, the author firmly believes that the time is fast approaching when dental radiology will be considered part of the ‘minimum standard’ required for all veterinary practices offering any dental services.
