Abstract: Generally when we consider investigating disease outbreaks, we only think of those diseases which are infectious. However, in production animal veterinary medicine it is also necessary to investigate outbreaks of non-infectious diseases or suboptimal productivity. Normally, outbreak investigation centres on problems at a population level.
