Abstract: The challenges faced by new graduates in the Veterinary industry can be very difficult and can impact on their personal lives. We have become more aware of the consequences of poorly managed mental health over the last 18 years, through the invention of the Graduate Support Scheme (GSS) and more recently its link up with One Life Suicide Prevention Strategy. What lies at the heart of the GSS, is the simultaneous formation of both personal and professional bonds between new graduates and experienced veterinary mentors. As technology has changed and the diaspora of veterinary graduates expanded, we have recognised that physical ‘face to face’ mentoring in its most basic form needs to adapt with our graduates.
