Abstract: Managing microbial infections is critical in managing dermatology cases effectively. Many dermatology cases that present with pruritus in small animal practice have secondary microbial infection or overgrowth. While successful management begins with identifying and controlling the underlying primary disease, it is also essential to initiate appropriate topical and systemic therapy to manage the bacterial aspect.
