Abstract:

Early in 1955, one of us (D.H.LeS.) reported to the Department of Agriculture the suspected existence of this disease in Southland and Otago. In this, he was amply supported by the clinical observations of veterinary surgeons of the area, but at that time no confirmatory evidence was available from the laboratory.
