Abstract: Antibiotics, organic arsenicals and other feed additives are widely used to improve the rate of growth and feed efficiency in pigs. A trial examining the response from four growth promoters was conducted on a Canterbury pig farm during the period, April to July 1970. It is well established that maximum benefit from growth promoters is achieved during the creep and early weaning period when the rate of growth is greatest.
