Abstract: Pazameta (1970) described an extreme case of a congenital polycystic kidney in a lamb. This report describes an extreme case of an acquired cystic kidney in a dog following traumatic atresia of the associated metal orifice. A 13-month-old corgi male dog was presented for routine castration. At the age of 4 months it had been run over by a car and an X-ray examination showed a chip fracture of the right ilium.
