Abstract: In a recent interview with the past president of the British Veterinary Association, Mr Nigel Snodgrass (1972), he stated that the new generation of veterinary surgeons was going to differ from the present one in that they would be doing a different sort of work and would be much more diversified, appearing in fields of activity where traditionally the veterinarian has not been found. What are these different types of work and fields of activity to which he referred? My address today concerns current trends and newer areas of veterinary participation
