Abstract: 0n receipt last November of the report of the poor performances of some New Zealand cattle in India, the subject was drawn to the attention of the External Aid Division of Foreign Affairs and after discussion it was agreed that there would be close liaison with the Animal Health Division on all future aid projects. As a consequence, Animal Health personnel were able to set down minimum requirements for the reception and management to be applied to a shipment of approximately 200 heifers airlifted to India recently. Preceding the despatch of this consignment, a senior divisional veterinarian was sent to India to ensure that the reception arrangements, transportation vehicles and quarantine facilities were all organized and satisfaotory…
