Abstract: There is increased interest in the possibility of rearing young calves in New Zealand for future beef production rather than slaughtering them in the first week of life. A large-scale intensive operation has been established at a dairy company at Edgecumbe, and it is desired to report on experience thus far gained with calves reared to 10 weeks of age, over the months August to December, 1973.
