Abstract: There have been various regimens of vaccination postulated for the differing needs of farmers and of areas in New Zealand, but there has been a tendency of late to stabilize on a multi-component pre-lambing dose annually, and with that no fault can be found. In an endeavour to assist the farmer financially, the sensitizing or first-dose given in a programme of vaccination has been less embracing in its cover; partly, so it is stated, to emphasize those components whence the greater risk could emanate, e.g., pulpy kidney, tetanus. In general terms one can always argue in favour of value for money, provided that one is convinced that the best advice is given, taking all facts into consideration
