The effect of fenbendazole in removing inhibited early-fourth-stage Ostertagia ostertagi from yearling cattle

Abstract: Fenbendazole had no significant effect on numbers of naturally-acquired, inhibited, early-fourth-stage Ostertagia ostertagi in 13 to 15-month-old steers. In six of the 12 animals dosed with this drug in two trials, total counts of O. ostertagi remaining exceeded 34 000, the highest being 108 000.
