Abstract: Fifteen horses with symptoms of clinical respiratory diseases were treated with Bisolven® at the rate of 15-20g/day for periods of up to 45 days. All the cases treated showed a marked improvement clinically and radiographically. The prognosis appeared to be more favourable in those cases in which the onset of symptoms was relatively recent than in those cases in which the symptoms were long-standing. Although control cases were not used in these trials, lack of response to earlier therapy and the response obtained with Bisolvon suggested that this drug had considerable value in the treatment of the type of case described.
