Abstract: The article “Observations on the epidemiology of malignant catarrhal fever” by Harris et al. (1978) 26: 86 refers to Anon (1976) Surveillance 5:22. I wish to point out that on page 1 of this same Surveillance, and in subsequent issues, the Director of Animal Health states “findings reported are of a preliminary nature and are not to be quoted or published elsewhere without the approval of the officer concerned”.  As author of the article concerned I did not give my consent nor was I consulted…
