Abstract: Renal coccidiosis is not widely recognised in New Zealand birds, although it has been observed in ducks, geese, terns, petrels and swans (B.J. Stevenson, pers. comm.). This letter records its occurrence in a month-old, North Island , Brown Kiwi Apteryx australia mantelli, bred in captivity
