Abstract: Few organisations can have a larger mouthful as a title than the Agricultural Chemical and Animal Remedies Manufacturers` Federation of New Zealand, further described as a national group within the Manufacturers` Federation of N.Z. Incorporated. It is commonly known by the non-euphonious acronym of AGCARM. AGCARM is a strange four-way alliance between the manufacturing and distributing companies of both the agricultural chemical and animal remedies industries. It is strange not only because manufacturing and distributing interests are often in conflict, but also because agricultural chemicals and animal remedies ostensibly have little in common. The former are primarily used to correct the ills of the land and its crops, and the latter to control the diseases of animals other than man
