Abstract: A case of oesophageal obstruction in a dog was caused by an intraluminal, pedunculated thymoma. The tumour was surgically excised and, eventually, the dog made a full recovery. Two days after being discharged from hospital, the dog developed acute myositis involving the temporal muscles which responded, without untoward sequelae, to steroid therapy.
