Abstract: A bovine adenovirus was isolated from a yearling heifer with systemic adenovirus infection. The virus was characterized as a subgroup 2 bovine adenovirus but could not be typed with reference antisera to the 10 known bovine adenovirus serotypes. A serological survey of cattle in the northern half of the North Island showed the prevalence of precipitating antibodies to bovine adenoviruses to be 43.3%.
