Abstract: A rapid improvement in the performance of many exercise horses followed the parenteral administration of E-SE. Normal values for serum CPK and blood selenium suggested that the improvement could have been due solely to Vitamin E. A series of blood samples were collected from adult horses in work and performing normally, and from others presented because they had failed to perform acceptably for their owners and/or riders…
