Abstract: Following the completion of the first phase of the Brucellosis Eradication Scheme in August 1977, when all eligible cattle were finally brought under test, a major review of the scheme and projections for future progress were published in the Veterinary Journal. At that time Dr Adlam wrote of the likelihood of changes as the scheme moved from the initial phase towards final eradication. A further five years have now passed and although the scheme has been constantly adapted to changing circumstances it is again timely to review progress, consider future trends and reassess current strategies
