Abstract: The Animal Welfare Subcommittee of the NZVA is at present considering the animal welfare implications of rodeos as they are run in this country including both calf roping and horse riding. The Subcommittee seeks comment from veterinarians who have had personal experience of these events. Do rodeos compromise the welfare of the animals involved?
